kdubya
Mate of mine is going out to thorndale this june I dont think he encountered any difficulties booking flights he is taking a .308 and a .22 I know he had to specify he was carrying firearms whilst booking flights and also he had to go with ba to paris then air france to south africa plus he has to have all the paper work checked by south african police (plus license to shoot etc ) on arrival. me I cant afford it so I will never find out if its as easy as he reckons? cheers KW

moeggesit
Regarding SA. You will need an invitation to hunt from the outfitter. You can get a temporary import licence from the SA Police on arrival but I can't remember if there was any cost involved, I would guess that there will be a small fee, >£20? According to the new SA laws you will also need a form from UK Customs for entry into SA. It would be bennificial to call the police at Johannesburg International Airpost to confirm details. Good luck at getting them to answer the phone though. The rules change daily and it depend on who you get on the day. No idea about Zim but a mate went last year and he said that it was really simple. Get a permit on arrival. Take lots of cash for the officials. Excellent hunting!
