steve_b_wales
I use a Cobra Merlin monucular with day scope adaptor. This is an excellent bit of kit, and when used with my scope and exra IR illumination, I can clearly spot rabbits, or foxes at 150+ yards. You must use the Cobra with an parallax adjustable scope though. The best thing about this set up is that you can use it with different rifles, without the need to re-zero each one. Steve. GP1
dear members need some help. i have my f.a.c now and i have a cz.22lr and my scope is a hawke night eye 3-9x50 and i do all my shooting mostly at night well until it get dark. now i would like to go into the nights what night vision would be the best for me . would i youse a full night vision or would i be better adding onto the scope with the n/v please help me its driving me mad wich do i use and could i have some types please and would i be better of with gen 1 or gen 2. thanks Its down to a few things. 1st whats your budget ? as NV can be very expensive and you really want to only do it the once as many try NV and end up buying low end **** and losing lots of money. If you are shooting under 80 yards gen1 will do the job but gen2 will be much better. If you don't mind shooting off a bi-pod than an add-on unit would probably suit you better and you don't tie a rifle up to a dedicated NV rig (Money) gen1 add-on new around £150 to £500, Digital add-on new around £300 to £500, gen2 add-on new around £1000 + gen3 secound/hand from £1,200 to £4,000, IR Laser N1000 £115 to £145, DSA (scope to NV cage) around £100 to £150. better price if you go second hand but please view the unit before buying and if poss take someone with you who know what they're looking at and if poss ask someone to take a NV unit to compare to the one your hoping to buy. Dedicated NV - new & second/hand prices. gen 1 from £250 to £1,000 gen2 from £500 to £2,500 gen3 £2500 to 10,000 With dedicated NV watch out for parallax issues and don't bother with chevron retices. Hope this helps a bit Edited August 11, 2011 by GP1

I bought one about a year ago and use it on a .22lr for rabbit shooting it's great you can go out in the afternoon and shoot rabbits and when the sun goes down you just carry on well into the night, even when its pitch black you can still see the rabbits to shoot. Have a look on youtube at the pulsar n550 digisight.

heliman
The pulsar digisight is a lot better than a generation 1 nightsight and i would say it's better than a generation 2 night sight and costs a lot less than a generation 2 sight, you also have a video out facility so you can record staight from the sight if you want to. Also you can use the digisight in the day time without the worry of popping your expensive gen 2 tubes so you don't need a second gun for your day shooting. I have used my digisight on my .243 and have shot foxes with it at night at 150+ yds no probs at all.

I will give anyone £1000 if there pulsar digisight out performs my gen 2+ had most NV that are worth having and been using NV for many years now. I also know vladimir who made the pulsar n550, viewed it when it was in the development stage and have viewed it on many occasions at NV meets. My shooting partner had one, well for one week then sold it,as he put it a pile o*****. In my eyes it does a job but please don't tell me its better than a gen 2 as i and many others know its not.
