Morning all

picking up a brand new browning x bolt 223 in a couple of hours....

ive had a few center fire rifles but im wanting to know the best practice to break the barrel in..

do i fire a couple of rounds then clean it then a couple more then clean it again???

also what rounds should i be looking at as its my designated night time fox rifle....what are people using in this caliber for fox??

ive splashed out on a S&B 8X56 and a A-tec mod so i want this rifle to be spot on..

thanks

Hi Archie,

I use to shoot 55gr Federal V shock ballic tips, with good results (but expensive), I now load my own with excellent results.

Don't know what twist rate yours is, but I have some V shock factory ammo you could buy cheap if interested, looks like you only down the road.
