Luckyshot
Daft question how do you bleed a clutch Doh and what about the hose. M1 Get 1 person to go underneath the Landy and crack the bleed nipple off on the slave cylinder and proceed to bleed it the same way you would a brake system, make sure you keep an eye on the fluid level in the master cylinder. Check the rubber hose to see if it is perished or leaking at the joints. Welcome to the world of Landrover ownership

I have tried to start it in gear but it keeps stalling I will try wedging the pedal down tomorrow I will let you know how I get on. Thanks m1
ferguson_tom
If your having problems with clutch plate could try the rather brutal but effective method of jacking the back end up, starting the engine in gear and depress the clutch and tap the brakes. If that don't work increase engine speed and jump on the brakes. (you do need 3 legs for this) If that dont work now for the brutal bit, you will need a bit of space. While wheels spinning press down the clutch, and rev to about 2000-25000 revs and simply drop the truck off the jack or axle stands so it hits the ground running. This all needs to be done in a low gear but dont worry bout using low range, we have done this to a couple of tractors previously and our old series land rover. Before you do any of this though make sure you it isn't your clutch not getting pushed far enough by the slave cylinder ( your already sorting that by sound of it though.) I am sure going to have some people call me mad and stupid for suggesting this but it has worked for me a couple of times with no known damage to the vehicles.
