dan-250
Well guys I've had my application sent off now for over 6 weeks and heard nothing, when do you think I should ring up and chase it abit ? Not even heard from the feo to inspect the cabinet or anything. I'm in Lincolnshire is it normally this steady ? Cheers dan
BenBhoy
certainly no harm in giving them a ring mate, just explain and ask politely.
rcooke25552
I rang 3 days after I posted mine. Had my certificate in less than 3 weeks. Manchester for you.
apache
If I ring up I usually have a little question for them and then ask -how the application is going on etc. Being nice and friendly seems to pay dividends.
M.I.A
Just ring them, they wont bite lol
HDAV
LOL if it's anything like here it will take a week to get the times they answer the phone (cheque been cashed?)
Bleeh
I got one application through faster by chasing it every week. It's a pain I know, but it certainly helps. Phone the Firearms office, ask for the mobile number or your Firearms officer. They all have one (At least in Norfolk) which use is to be contacted by the public during working hours, while he's out and about.
Rushjob
Funnily enough I rang Lincs yesterday to politely enquire how my FAC application was going ....the nice lady said " Oh it's green, that means it's been passed and will be signed in the next few days " Should get it in the post in the next few days The other thing to be aware of is that the FEO for our area ( I'm near to you, just south of Lincoln ) is currently recovering from an op so the other FEO's are covering his area too, hence the possiblity for a bit of a delay. I'd give them a ring, they don't bite. Edited September 2, 2011 by Rushjob
dan-250
Ok I'll ring first thing on Monday then, hopefully get an answer and a respond to how much longer it will be, can't see if the cheque has been cashed as I can't do them on my account, I'll see if it's gone out from my mums. I'll just ask if there's any news from the doctors or something. I'll have a chat about how long it's expected to be before the chap comes to inspect my cabinet .
