MarcusSmart
Hi all has anyone any experience with these? I have been looking at the Deben LED Ray Tatical 700 @ £165ish mark. What is the beam like when filtered as claimed 250M, but guess this is bit exaggerated! Any one have anything else they can recommend? Thanks
stokie
My mate bought the tactical 700 and to be honest it's no better than my Lensor P7 complete with gun fitting kit for£56 In my book his should be three times better The Lensor is exactly the lamp you need for a rimmy ....... dannywayoflife
I bought a great led lamp and I'm going to sell it shortly as according to the wife I have too many lamps!! It's a Titan tactical 900 lumen I recon it's good to 200m. There about £50 less than the deben new! I did look at the deben but then looked at the price tag!! Alycidon
I saw an add in Sporting Gun tonight that says that Lightforce now have an LED version of the 170 and 240. A Sorry its HID not LED. Edited September 5, 2011 by Alycidon
remy 700
If its for a rimmy p7 or deben gl4 the red one is good for lamp shy critters , but be aware that led / cree do not show the target in the same light as a good old halogen , so deben and clulite kits still are the best all round option , and still very afordable compared to the single torch option. Mark-70
I have an Ledray gl2 from Deben and while the build quality is very good I think the distance stated is a little optimistic I also prefer the light from a halogen bulb to the led type of light. It's fine on my air rifle but I ended up buying a halogen light for the rimfire.
sixhills 69
I use a LED Lenser P7 they are light small fit a Rimmy and i ahve even used it on my 223 when out foxing the only thing is they do not have filters but the beam is ajustable with on finger great little light but with large capacity
Colster
As said above, LED light is very white in colour, so it doesn't filter well. I have an Ultrafire WF-501B I bought from DealExtreme, cost about £15 including mounts and pressure switch and Ledray GL2 filters will fit on it but the red really cuts the range down drastically. Even unfiltered, target recognition at distance (say 60yards plus) is tricky especially if it's a rabbit sitting against a hedge for example. I'd stick to something with a Halogen bulb, Max Pro or similar.
Mark-70
Max-pro is what I bought after the GL2, well pleased with it!!
