Matt Gould
just a quick question, i hope anyway why do hmr bullets only come in 17 and 20gr bullets, why dont any of the manafctures make any hmr rounds in like 25gr .......... or something ? Newsportshooter
Aside from the obvious length of bullet issues which arise as the weight requirement increases there is also the effect on trajectory that would occur with heavier bullets. I would imagine if they made them in 25-30 grain the trajectory would come close to that of WMR with no overtly positive performance(energy)improvements, bearing in mind the usual quarry species that the HMR is used for. casts_by_fly
the benefit of the HMR is speed. heavy bullets = slow. I'd imagine a 25 gr bullet would be in the 1900 range at safe pressures, so you're loosing the trajectory advantage of the HMR.
