bj-wildfowler
I have seen in a DVD and an article in an old magazine, showing a hide in which you lie inside. It is for positioning yourself in the middle of a field close to your decoys. It looks a bit like a mummy shaped sleeping bag and the top half springs open shen you are ready to sit up and shoot. Has any one used one of these hides? please let me know if they are any good and if you know where they can be bought, that would be great. TJ91
i made my own, coupl of large hessian sacks, abit of scrim netting and a few lightweight alloy poles threaded through easy enough to make and work just the same. not so good if you cant shoot from sitting position or if like above you have a badback i find judging range when layd out flat isnt very easy

Thanks for that, it was my intention to use it for inland goose shooting. Have a very good piece of land to shoot, but very big open fields and hard to get them close to hides. JR1960
We used to use something similar years ago, it was ok when i was young and fit but i wouldn't want to try it now being old, fat and rheumaticy.
steve_b_wales
I've seen DVD's where holes are dug in the ground, just deep enough for the shooter to lie in. The hole was lined with plastic sheets to stop water/damp.
