Harnser
Just make sure that the forend is sitting all the way down onto the action and is not recessing back . If the fore end is sitting all the way down properly ,then try and screw the fore end nut down a little bit tighter . The nut should be finger tight only ,but some people are stronger than others . mickmep
probably nothing to worry about, my 303 forend was loose. the wood moved relative to the metal forend end where it was riveted together. think they pretty much all do it. should have bought a hatstand.............. VicW
This quite a common fault and is easily rectified. Between the forend and the receiver there is a metal spacer that the forend fits in.You need to fit a thin shim on the end of the forend where it fits into the spacer. Black duct/gaffer tape works well but it is a fiddly job cutting it to shape.Use as many layers as neccessary to take up the slack. Do NOT overtighten the forend nut to compensate for the slackness. gemini52
The three hundreds had a leather spacer that sat in the front of the reciever these were meant to take up the slack, but if you were not aware they could just fallout, try to make a templet out of paper, old leather belt if its thin enough will do the job.
