Dekers
SPECIFICALLY those that have FIRST hand experience of Bushnell 4200 Rifle Scopes. I posted up about the 6500 a week ago and several have suggested forgetting it and go for the 4200 instead, if YOU have had first hand experience of this specific scope (any of the variations) I would be very grateful for your opinion. Everything, the good the bad and the ugly. Which of the 4200 scopes would be your suggestion on my .223 for all round field work! I have in mind the 6-24x50 Tactical Turrets! Specific questions, what's it like at full mag (not that I ever shoot that way) and does it come with a Sunshade? Many thanks. EDIT And whilst we are at it, any suggestions on who is doing the best deals on these at the moment? Cheers! casts_by_fly
dekers, I owned the 3200 (in 5-15) and considered the 4200 and 6500. I did a good bit of testing on all of them. They are all excellent scopes and especially for what you pay for them. I chose not to spend the extra on the 4200 and got the 3200, but they are effectively the same scopes. The coatings are slightly different and the specific magnifications are somewhat different. Overall, I found them each as good as the other for me. That said, I also have the Nikon Monarch 6-24x50 (with all 3 sets of turrets) and it is clearer and brighter than the Bushnells. I too considered the Buckmaster 4.5-14 when I bought the 5-15 and it was my first choice. I just couldn't get a hold of one with a normal reticle when I needed to buy. In terms of specifics, I looked through the 5-15, 4.5-14, 6-18, and 6-24 variants of the above (and I think a 4-16 4200), some in 40 and some in 50 mm. All were very good. Teh absolute best optics is the monarch. Best price to value was the 5-15. If you are interested, my 6-24 is up for sale. It is basically new and at a highly discounted price from new. It is cheaper than you'll get it in the US. PM me if interested. It is listed on here in the 'other' for sale forum. Thanks Rick
