It all depends on the outcome.

If it can be proved / admitted that the common assult took place, a caution will be issued.

If you have refused the caution and it goes to court, the force dealing with the matter can revoke your license.

It has been done before.

You do have grounds under Section 44 of the Firearms Control Act to appeal.

Best advice, join BASC or any organisation like that if not already, wait and see what happens with the common assult charge and take it from there.

If you need anymore info, please pm me :smartass:

Sound advice, ultimately the FEO and his operational boss, will be looking at this bit of legislation:

Under section 30©(1) of the 1968 Act

(as amended), a shot gun certificate may be

revoked by the chief officer of police if they

are satisfied that the holder cannot be

permitted to possess a shot gun without

danger to public safety or to the peace.

This is, of course, a tad subjective. If I have been involved in a fight and got a beating and I a danger? If I got involved in a fight and beat the willies out of the other chap am I a danger? If someone threatened me and I thump them am I a danger? If someone attacks me and I defend myself and get the better of the other man am I a danger?

You can imagine that some will say YES to all of the above, some will say NO to all of the above and some will be a mix of YES and NO.

I think the call to your FEO is certainly a good first step to test the water.
