bazzab
Hi all. I've decided it's time to finally oil my R10 stock don't want it getting poorly when the rain comes!!! So went out and bought a bottle of Tesco walnut oil. Stripped stock down, cleaned and applied first coat rubbing vigourously with my hands. So anyways here's the stock bedore any oil has been applied., I think there probably the best looking stock about. Oil enhances them from what I've seen so will be applying over time to control look as well me thinks. Will let coat 1 dry and get some pics up tomorrow. If anyone is interested? pigeon street
Lovely looking stock. Why did you use walnut oil, not sure how durable this is or how fast it will dry

AndyElectro
Isn't the Tesco walnut oil more suited to cooking? To be fair it does sound like it should be used to oil up a wok for a good chow mein haha
Ghostrider1979
Just why why why? Such an awesome piece of wood should of really sought advice before messing with it. By the way I don't know alot about oiling but surely you should of asked a gun shop for something more decent then tesco rubbish. ;@(

bazzab
Hi all. Sorry moving house this weekend so flat out. Have applied first coat but was a very light coat so not much difference in apperance. So will post pics when done 2nd coat. I used walnut oil after a lot of research on Internet. Lot and lots of people recommened it, some videos on YouTube too and on BSA owners group forum too. Been advised it forms a nice protective barrier and enhances appearance as well. Some very experienced people advised it.
mrockrat
I use walnut oil on mine too... Brings it up a treat and protects it well. Really brings out the grain and easy to apply as well.
