BC For Nosler BTs

Recommended Posts

Nosler state it as .221. Stated BC should however be used as a guide only, fired from different barrels results can be different. BC can be calculated from two chronographed distances if you want to get into the nitty gritty (i don't bother as there is more to bullet selection than BC IMO)

For the 40's, I've found the BC close enough out to 250 from the 223 at 3600 fps. That was sighitng dead on at 100 and clicking in out to 250. However, consider that the actual drop over that range is small and shooter error would be greater than calculation error from the BC (i the BC were 200 or 240 you wouldn't notice it). For anything you'd shoot a 40 gr BT, 220 is close enough.

Thanks

Rick
