TaxiDriver
Been out this evening and realise the 90lumens red led torch I have is woefully inadequate even for 40yrds used on my FAC Air rifle never mind 60yrds on the 22lr. What I would like is a lamp that can be used to give a good level of light upto 100yrds maximum when using a red or orange filter. Preference would be compact, scope/gun mounted and not overly heavy. Thanks TD
MM
I use a cheap £10 job from a petrol station. light and does the job. Dont spend £170 on a lamp kit. just aint worth it.
Wharf Rat
Ledray GLs are good for mounting. My rechargable Woolworths 1000000 candle power with the lens gaffer taped to tighten the beam is fine for hand-holding.
mad1
I use the tracer but if in a hurry just take a candle taped to the mod
stubby
I use a chinese imatation of that well known lamp, cost me £45 from evil bay, gives me ok light with red filter to around 60-80yds, remove the filter though for 100yds, but then all my shots are 60yds or less, so does me fine, its the u call scope mounted too, cant moan at that price
Magwitch
I am moving back to a lightforce 170 with an amber filter after trying a led torch, it just didnt have the reach I needed for a .22lr and 17hmr.
CEREALTHRILLER
I just got a clulite SL 1 - excellent piece of kit. Fits on your scope or can be hand held.1/2 milllion candle power with a good range - 200 ish yards useable beam though the red filter cuts it down a bit.I highly recommend it.I got it for £90+p&p from rifle sports. TaxiDriver
Well, what I ended up buying was the Tracer Ledray Tactical 400 It has a claimed 400 Lumen giving a 170metre beam Pretty good without a filter, but put a red filter on and its down to about 40-50yrds tops
Wharf Rat
Can you exchange it for one with a green or red led - no filter required?
