adam f
So I bought a Pro Magnet from A1 Decoys. Pleased with it, apart from I cant work out how to attach my decoys to the single 'prongs' that are the arms? Also it comes with V shaped spreaders for dead birds, but again these are just steel rods - how do you attach the birds? Thanks Adam
Billy.
I'd use the decoys for as little time as possible on the Magnet. Shoot two pigeons and put them on it. When you're finished, keep two whole pigeons in the freezer and use them the next time round. Unless you have a specific mount for the decoys, or they're airpro ones, you'll do well to attach them. For dead birds, the centre metal pole goes up the pigeon's backside, through the chest cavity and up the neck When the tongue sticks out, you're about right (Just make sure the head isn't flopped over) If the V arms haven't got crocodile clips, they'll probably point upwards at the tip. These tips are used to pierce the 'elbow' in the wing. The joint which allows the wing to tuck in, about halfway along the leading edge of the wing. Edited September 29, 2011 by Billy. bakerboy
Do as Billy has said , but I would add that to break the wings (on a dead bird not the decoy)helps as well.
adam f
Thanks guys. Looks like i'll need to fabricate a mount - the deeks I have are the Terminator bouncer type.

I wouldn't waste your time. Use them as they're designed and pull in a couple of real pigeons and use those as magnet decoys. As plenty of people on here will agree, you don't always need a pigeon magnet to have a 100+ bird day. Edited September 29, 2011 by Billy. Beardo
AFAIK the terminator style bouncer mount work the opposite way round - ie the deek will be facing the wrong way ie the loop bit in this pic.. http://image.shopzilla.co.uk/resize?sq=80&uid=2445997632
mpk
Definetly use 2 dead pigeons as soon as you have them
Greenhunter
I'm assuming that the 'decoy' has a hole in its rear, just like a real bird, if it hasn't make one. If the tail has been cut off it won't matter. Put the V spreaders on the spike upsidedown, squeeze them fairly close together(if they will), Insert the spike in the rear, up as far as is possible and use the V to hold it in place by tucking each end up under the wings so that they squeeze the body. A rubber-band could help. Or, if you don't mind holes in the wings, just use them like you would a dead bird. GH
