Regardless of what was wrong with them (and I have had the corroded battery one also), I have just sent them off and they have either been replaced or repaired with new parts all at no charge. Maglite offer a lifetime guarantee and have always honoured it with me, even down to the little black rubber buttons being replaced for free. Do you need to provide proof of ownership such as a shop receipt.
