jacksdad
Just bought this, my next project Its a Diana, made in Germany, but does anyone know what model it is, and where I can get parts? Needs a spring, the bit the trigger latches to, and a new seal. It had a terrible repair on the stock which I've redone, just got to rebuild it all now! All it says on it is the Diana logo with a bow and arrow and a rifle, plus "DIANA-LUFT-GEWEHR" and under the cocking arm, "2.29" Any ideas please: and don't say its worth about a quid, I bought it cos its good
Snap Cap
Looks like a Diana 27. The old girls certainly seen some action.
jacksdad
Found out a bit more, it is indeed a 27, post WW2, the earlier ones had a hexagon section on the barrel, and a fixed rear sight: this one should have a screw thread adjuster on, you can see a tiny mark where it pressed on the barrel. I assume the stamp 2.29 means Feb 1929, which is about right for the style of stock, which is walnut. One thing I hevn't found is a parts supplier  Anyone got any ideas, as I'd love to get this rebuilt, and even use it Its great just holding it and thinking what its seen, which is a big reason for me collecting all old stuff, and restoring it! jacksdad
Hi, I looked on Chambers site and thought that the info was wrong, but it appears that the 27 image is a later version of the same rifle, I'm hoping thats the internals are the same! The bits I need are available, plus I've already got a spring, the Meteor Mk1 I've just restored is the same, so the old one will do for now I could really do with a rifle that has good internals but no barrel or stock, that would be a real result! Snap Cap
If my memory serves correct the 27 was fitted with a leather piston washer which you may have diffilculty getting hold of if the one in the gun has degraded. A parachute washer will be an adequate replacement but you will lose several mm from the spring stroke.
Grandalf
Memories! I had one when I was a lad - and that was a very long time ago. Had been my brother's before me. The hexagon barrel one. No idea what happened to it. I joined the army when I was 15 and never saw it again.
jacksdad
Thats a pity Grandalf, like all older guns, they are quite collectable, a good 27 that still fires is worth around £100-150 Mine isn't going to be worth that, but I like it because its well used, its great holding it and thinking what its seen  Wonder how many rabbits it took to feed the family in WW2, then in the dark days that followed. I now need a spring sleeve/trigger release, the trigger latch has snapped off and I plan on building it back up with welding, then file to shape: I need a sample or a diagram now!
