Harnser
A load to try for your .308 . 150 grain soft point driven by 45 grains of vit 140 .The book load of powder is 47 grains But I like to down load alittle bit from the books and besides 45 grains is easier to load on my scales than 47 grains about 2600 feet per second and a treat to shoot also very accurate will shoot sub MOA at 100yards in my ruger . Raja Clavata
I have had my new t3 hunter for a week now and put about twenty rounds through it. completely different beast to the remy 700 I had previously and this fits me better and feels so much more natural to shoot. I'm running it without a mod at present to get used to the recoil and it's grouping nicely at 100yds with the 8 x 56 and factory 150 grain Winchester ammo. I did invest in a set of optilocks too. I will have to get a mod for it as my lad, bless him, cried when I tried to zero it late on Saturday after the pheasant shoot. I was surprised as he had his sector ear defenders on and stood well back but it turns out the muzzle flash, in the failing light, freaked him out. Have tentatively decided on a TET Spartan. Was tempted to use it Wednesday on a munty stalk with Jason but probably a bit overkill, so will use the .243 instead.

Have shot Muntie with my 308 hunter and surprisingly not much meat damage, no more than the 243, that was with 150gr.

Harnser . You beat me to it. i've changed from Varget to N140 and the recoil is much softer, although the groups are slightly bigger at 600yds but all the holes are well within the kill zone. .308 definately gets my vote for one of the best all round calibers. mikee
ive recently got a .308 Remmy 700 sps stainless but the stock was pants so I had it bedded into an H&S Precission stock my local shop had second hand, I put the 8x56 Schmidt of my HMR onto it and I love it, it shoots a dream, i bought a box of Hornady 168gn A-Max and a box of Lapua 150gn Soft points, it shoots about 1.5" with the Lapua's and about.75" with the A-max, I didnt really notice any difference in recoil which was gentle with both, but I do shoot from a fairly stable platform, with a bi-pod and the Northstar I can see the bullet hit its mark through the scope, I still love my .243 but I think the .308 will get most use from now on unless there is lots of walking involved. After shooting Harnser's Ruger a couple of years back I wanted one and now ive got one, superb caliber. mikee
