Gordon R
For DTL - 1/2 in bottom barrel - fired first - and 3/4 in the top. Generally less choke in the lower barrel and always in the case of Trap disciplines - ABT,DTL, OT etc.
OvEr_KiLL
so start off with 1/2 and 3/4 not 3/4 and Full ? a few people said to me shoot with the top barrel first as its easier to reload.
Dustem Dave
so start off with 1/2 and 3/4 not 3/4 and Full ? a few people said to me shoot with the top barrel first as its easier to reload. Shoot bottom barrel first as the recoil from the bottom barrel first helps for the second shot
EdSolomons
What he said. 3/4 full is not needed for domestic trap, 1/2 and 3/4 is fine
OvEr_KiLL
thanx guys, what about sporting chokes? 1/4 and 1/2 bottom barrel first?
HDAV
Doesn't stop people shooting full and full tho! At DTL and bal trap, bottom barrel first less muzzle flip if you need the second shot easier to reload? Hardly it's clays not pheasants, and on the line gun should be broken anyway between your turns so as you have a couple of minutes between shots I don't see how shooting top first is any benefit at all!
