hi gents,

i've been putting it off but my boots have finally died and are letting in water they have lasted me 3 years though so i can't grumble and i've already been putting it off all summer.

i'm looking at meindl boots and i'm stuck between the borneo's, burma's or the douvre extreme, i'm gonna be getting them of evil bay so need an idea of sizing i usually wear a 9, so do i need to order a 9 or are they larger/smaller fitting?

does anyone find the height of the douvre restricting?

thanks in advance

I wear a burma and find them just right for me , i normally take a 9 and personally find them a tad bigger than normal , but is fine by me as i wear thicker socks most the time anyway :good: hope that helps

Personally I think you are mad buying walking boots on line, unless you have tried the identical pair on in a shop.

A decent walking shop won't let you buy a pair until they been properly fit checked, up/down slopes etc.

I have had Borneo Pro's for years now, I wear a size 8 shoe and needed 9.5 boot, so you can't just guess and hope to get it right.

I always get my stuff there - they aren't the cheapest but then they have invested in the right staff to provide the right service - yada yada yada - and I get 15% off, which helps a bit.

That's where I got my Scarpa boots from after the lad in the store had spent about any hour measuring my feet, checking my arches and everything else! Could have saved £20 online, but thought the same as you really and bought them there!

hi dunkied

i know its not the best idea which is why i thought i'd ask for other peoples experiences with fit/sizing. my feet are probably about an 8 length i only wear a 9 for the width so i might be ok, if they don't fit i can always get the next size up or a refund.

there's no where local enough for me to go and try on a range of decent quality boots so its either spend a fortune travelling to find somewhere to try them on or take a gamble online and if it doesn't pay off have to pay £5 to send them back. hopefully my gamble will pay off but if not its a lesson learned.
