unapalomablanca
Ive been hitting some bloody high birds lately, i reckon on the limit of a shotgun. Do you think that sometimes they are just wounded and the drop kills them outright because they all seem uncannily dead when i go to pick them up. TJ91
I am sure plenty of birds die when they hit the ground with a bang. Major head trauma, broken neck etc... Easy enough to break a humans and a pigeons can't be as strong

scolopax
Seen quite alot of properly high geese knocked down and split open when they hit the sand, the breast meat separating from the bone, taken some sorting out to trim the good meat from the sandy.
