Well i have to go and see a Farmer through a contact who lives near my dad. The lad who normally has the land doesnt have time to go very often so has said he will have a word with the farmer and then send me down to see him.

Apparently he is MASSIVELY over run with rabbits and farmer goes mad about them all the time. also had a drive round the boudaries yesterday and saw lots of pigeon too aswel as corvids and the likes.

From what i can make out there is about 600acres to go at.

Hopefully all will go to plan and should have land by weekend

Cheers chaps... cant wait! I will stick to ANY rules "Wilbur" (great farmers name) puts down. And you will deffo have pics

Si

Simon your words were exactly right - "I will stick to any rules".

This is virtually the first phrase that I have used on my initial meeting with a landowner - "You set the rules - is there anything that you don't want me to do?".

Ask him if you need to give him a call (phone) before you visit so that he will know that you are there.

Ask for a map of the boundaries so that you will not stray.

Best of luck

Don

At last!! It's only taken three years of tapping up, but hey, fingers crossed it'll be worth it mate. We should be fully sorted for shooting permissions shortly, I'm on my way to securing a shoot over your way in Skiptonia, will keep you posted!

Honk, honk!!

Well i finally secured the shoot on Fiday morning. There is 410acres of mostly grazing for his cattle. Still its rife with bunny and woodys (there is a large forrest area) and he wants rid of as many bunny's as I can. I took a reccy friday afternoon and took some pics i will put up later.

Me and Marc M were meant to be going today to go take care of as many as we can but i have ended up working

Sounds like a plan to me Homes!

I've bought plenty game shells from work today, even managed to find a really old, rusty leather cartridge belt with metal clips for the shells in the back of the "age old" store... the metal clips are largely rusted, nut still working, and check this, the belt was fully loaded with a set of Winchester No6 shells!!

I've got the lamp on charge now, so we'll be able to shoot the last 2 or 3 hours of daylight with the shotguns, then turn to the airguns and lamps as night falls. Perfect!!! Can't wait!
