I read that Francis Lovel bought Atkin Grant & Lang "and the Broomhills site" on Monday http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/news/530747/Gunmakers_Atkin_Grant_amp_Lang_under_new_ownership.html

but is that just the Gunsmithing side of things in the cellar, or the ground as well? I thought the ground had been taken over some months as the previous owners went bump again, but the website(s) look the same and are advertising current events.

Thats interesting as Francis Lovel have only just opened up a shooting ground in west oxfordshire, kind of on the E J Churchill model. If they have taken the shooting ground at broomhills too it WILL be good, Francis and Matt dont believe in doing anything shoddy :good:

ill have to go and try it see the differences

Some stands dont work + 30p a clay!!!! for non members, and same inward facing set up with a couple of 'honesty' stands were you own up to any clays you pull, bizarre. Staff are friendly enough though.

Its unfortunate really because it used to be a good set up - cant see it lasting the way it is. Oh and the airgun range appears to have disappeared (but it could have been moved, I dont use it so didnt check). Main thing for me was the price, I thought 20p a clay was expensive but 3 clays per pund is ridiculous. Pretty sure membership is round the same £100 mark and at least you still get the free clays per month with membership deal which is a good thing.

Would like to see it come around and entice some good paying regulars but I doubt it will survive in this economic climate

I believe its 10p per clay on Wednesdays (possibly just for members though - I'm not 100% sure)

I'm going up there myself tomorrow PM - managed to get a day off so off cycling in the morning then Broomhills in the afternoon.

- The air rifle range has been moved to behind the BBQ area, down by the 'fur and feather' stand
