roundy
I collected my CZ452 after a RFD transfer the other day which was advertised as a "CZ452 Varmint" with 16" barrel. Looking at the rifle however the barrel is marked "CZ452 American" ? So does that mean it's actually an "American" with a 16" barrel rather than the Varmint heavy barrel? The rifle attached... kent
All varmints are marked American on the action. Is it a heavy barrel? Actually my .22 CZ varmint is not though it is the same as the American HMR varmint i had.
roundy
I've never seen a normal barrel in person so difficult to compare... Will there be something obvious like a marking?
Greenhunter
The stock doesn't look like an american. I thought they had a more curved top line to the comb. The barrel doesn't look very heavy but it's hard to tell if you haven't got another to compare with. It does look thinner than my Varmint .22 but that could be the caliber difference. Basically....inconclusive....sorry. GH
Sussexboy
Looks like a Varmint. That is deffo a Varmint stock, and if you look at the barrel where it joins the action there is no change of profile like on an American.

Oh yeah, found this picture of an American, defo a profile change....thanks for the info ;-) Ok...can I ask another question :-) ? I am pretty sure the previous owner must have modded the trigger as it has no float at all, but the barrel touches the stock on one side. What's the best way to sort this?
