rabbit killer
I'm going to college next year and taking my 2 shotguns which come to the value of about £1100. The college insists I have insurance, where can I get it and how much would it cost? Cheers, Will
M.I.A
It will or should be covered by your contents insurance, is i at college owned property?
HDAV
Theft insurance or liability insurance? Endsliegh for contents or get parents house insurance extended to cover your digs term time. Liability insurance comes with BASC and CPSA insurance
Cosmicblue
Contents insurance for wherever you are living is what you need. Will the college be storing them for you?
rabbit killer
Yeah it will be in a police approved cabinet on campus
mfletch
Yes I had mine added to the house insurance £1500 And that covers anything up to that value shotgun binoculars camera scopes
jackinbox99
I have my home & contents insurance with Tescos and phoned them up earlier in the year to check on this. They said that my guns would be covered under their contents policy as long as each one was obviously below their normal "single item max value" condition.... which I think was something like 5grand per item. So unless some contents insurers dont allow firearms to be included, i think thats your way forward.

HDAV
WOuld seem odd if the gun is going into a "college" store/armoury etc I doubt many domestic insurers would touch it, if the cabinet is in your room then part of normal possessions insurance, like your PC, TV etc.
rabbit killer
i have seen a couple of companys that are specifically designed to insure guns and sporting equipment like one supported by BASC but not sure about them?
