All,

I had a call last night from one of the keepers on my stalking grounds saying there are a Group of poachers working the Norfolk area!! they have been seen out with lamps and now deer are being found dead in fields from poor shots from the road, I have had 5 shot on my ground and now no of others being found dead on other farms near my stalking.

The police have there a names and a registrations and a now waiting for them to show up!

Please if you no any stalkers in Norfolk just give them the heads up to keep there eye!!! do not approach just call the police. They are going to get court.

Spud ,unfortunately this is all to common in our part of the world . Happens more this time of the year and the poachers are targeting the big red stags . I have been talking with the rural crimes unit in Norfolk and have been able to give them some good information as to whom may be involved . Be careful you scumbags you are going to have your collars felt . Yes you do know who I mean .

The NA AONB have Deer Management Group meetings in several counties around me that I attend,as they probably do over the whole country. When the local police have time to attend they do and we voice the problems we get with poachers and its the same old story, they are limited in what they can do. You would think that with all the problems legit shooters get with the police they would come down like a ton of bricks on someone poaching deer with a lamp and rifle. A landowner, who's deer we control, had lampers out one night and he called the police, he was told to take car no's etc and was given a crime number and that was that, I brought this up at a meeting. The police officer told me that they could do something if a vehicle or poachers were still on the property but could not stop suspected poachers even if it was quite obvious they had just driven out of a field. Due to police shortages it was unlikely they would get to a reported incident in time for this. Final advise to our group was be vidulant and keep collecting numbers, if one vehicle did keep coming up on reports for a period they could look into it.

Hi ya shotgunspud, Any heads up on what sort of motors we need to keep a look out for or descriptions of people would be great we've got a lot of reds round here now and this is a growing problem but its handy to know what we're looking for. Cheers Dave.
