mudpatten
I think that the point of loading a Benelli as per the instruction manual is that the very last thing you do is to crisply shut the breech thereby engaging the lugs and readying it to fire. Doing it the other way, usual for most other autos, can lead to your hand or sleeve or a slight impact, whatever, catching the cocking lever and disconnecting it from the closed position which then leads to the well documented "Benelli Click." This click is the result of some slight mishandling of the gun.I`ll happily accept that you might have a duff gun and I do hope you get it sorted with GMK but there are so few moving parts required to make a Benelli fire that GMK automatically replace the firing pin and spring. If there are cycling issues they might replace the mag. and/or stock spring.Other than that, it should work if the breech is properly closed, as seems to be the case when GMK test fires it. I`ve had an SBE2 for 7 years and use it for all my fowling and pigeon shooting.I keep it clean and load it as instructed in the manual and I`ve never once experienced the "Benelli Click" I think that one of the more sensible suggestions is to get an experienced Benelli user to have a go with it. They don`t like being mollycoddled when loading. You might also want to ignore the advice from those who believe that the manufacturers recommended method of loading is incorrect. They know not what they are talking about. Another contributor suggested contacting Benelli USA. I`m not sure why since they are made in Italy and Benelli USA is simply a distributor in the same vein as GMK. Sadly, GMK are not renown for great customer service. I do hope you get it sorted. sitty tree
hello mate. sorry to hear about your gun. i dont know what price these are put can imagine they dont come cheap. i dont see why you should have to tap it/pull the bolt back a bit. or anything else if it is new . may be in a few years when it has had a good outing and pleanty of cartridge through it. i would have no messing tell gmk that your going to trading standards and see if there attitude changes. regards peter. sodylt1
Guys.... Thanks for all the great feed back! Its great to hear that the "click" issue is a common one so taking the comments on board and bearing in mind that they have fitted parts again I am going to take the gun on the marsh over the holiday period and see what happens. If it fails again I am definatley going down the legal / fit for purpose route! The fowlers amongst us will know how frustrating it is to have walked out 2 / 3 miles to have to gun reward you with a "CLICK" at the vital moment........ so fingers crossed again! BerettaSV10
While I don't have the M2, I have the crio and always load one in the chamber first then put what I want in the mag, so far its not missed a beat, the bolt always slams home firmly. ziplex
I load it as above too and don't have any problems...........to experience the 'click' just pull the bolt back an inch or two after loading then slowly release into place and i'll guarantee it'll happen, alternatively give the butt a sharpish tap on the ground, same result. It not a fault as such, you just have to be sure the bolt is fully home, just a fraction of an inch back and it won't fire. I think you if you take this on board you'll not have any problems
