louis682
Hi im looking for a good part off (i say off just flat fields really) and part on road tyre for a Nissan X-Trail 2.2dci which has 17" alloy wheels? can anybody suggest any options please? Thanks Louis
PhilR
What is your specific tyre size, I think 17" rims might be difficult to get a decent tyre for. I've got a 4WD Volvo XC70 with 16" rims and have Pirelli Scorpion STR fitted to it, it'll get about quite well provided the field margins aren't too muddy. shaun4860
I had the same bother when i had an x-trail with 17" rims, you cant get proper off road tyres in 215/60/17 If you get the 16" rims you go to 215/65/16 and you can get proper A/T tyres. best bet are the original fittings which if memory serves me are bridgestone duellers, also look at PIRELLI Scorpion STR Edited December 24, 2011 by shaun4860
Wildfowler12
I had some Infinity INF200's fitted to my Xtrail. Think they where 60/40 on-off road, they where more than capable for what I did. And only £50 a corner.

Beardo
just about to get my X-trail and been looking into tyres on the newer 17" models (215 60 R17)... these are supposed to be pretty good.... Yokohama geolander go12 http://www.blackcircles.com/tyres/brands/yokohama/geolandar-ats-go12 oh and apparently you can fit 225/60 R17 H99 which don;t rub and only affect the speedo by 1mph at 70mph

Beardo
they list them in that size here... http://www.yokohamatire.com/tires/detail/geolandar_a_t_s
ME
I have got those Geolandars on my Nissan Terrano work truck. They are pretty mild for all terrain tyres. I guess it depends what you want. My truck spends more time on the road so they suit for what I need.
Beardo
useful site... http://www.tiresizecalculator.info/ 245 50/17, diameter diff: -1.88% , speed will read faster than actual.starting at $133.77/tire USD 225 55/17, diameter diff: -1.52% , speed will read faster than actual.starting at $101/tire USD 255 50/17, diameter diff: -0.43% , speed will read faster than actual.starting at $135.77/tire USD 215 60/17 235 55/17, diameter diff: +0.07% , speed will read slower than actual.starting at $108/tire USD 245 55/17, diameter diff: +1.67% , speed will read slower than actual.starting at $202/tire USD 225 60/17, diameter diff: +1.74% , speed will read slower than actual.starting at $117/tire USD it's getting to be more on road than off, hence why the Frontera has to go (if i could justify keeping it i would just for shooting), but i'd still like the best ATs i can get for it. shaun4860
they list them in that size here... http://www.yokohamatire.com/tires/detail/geolandar_a_t_s I see what your saying Nick but thats an american site, I hope you are right and you can get the ones you want. Tyre shopper only sell these sizes (225/55HR18 235/70SR15 245/70R12 245/75R16 33X12.50SR15) Black circle's only sell 225/65 R17 H in 225/17 Dont know why you dont seem able to get the size you want here, when the Americans can get them? Sizes aside, the seem a really good price I put 215/60/17 Geolander into google and all that comes up are these http://www.blackcircles.com/tyres/brands/yokohama/geolandar-hts-go51/215/60/R17/H/96/f Edited January 17, 2012 by shaun4860

Andy75
Pirelli Scorpion STR's here on 16" alloys with our '55 plate SVE. Works a treat. Unstoppable last year on the Wolds with over a foot of snow - well pleased.

Beardo
i've had a look around and can get 16" rims at a reasonable price, so may do that if i find i'm struggling.
Beardo
just spoke to Blackcircles and they can get the Geolandars ATS in 17" to order.
