MAJ2
If they pay a bounty of two or three quid a tail, I'll travel north with a car boot full.
Lord Geordie
There seems to be a flaw in their case there. They say they will use baited cages (larson traps i presume) to lure them in and any NON grey will be released. What happens if a Grey AND red are caught together in the same traps? Then surely the "pox like virus" will have been spread to the red and then that red allowed to carry on spreading the virus till the poor thing dies of the virus? Surely any reds caught with greys should under go a test to make sure it is virus free and also the traps should be systematically dissinfected when a grey is caught to assure IF a red is caught after that it does not end up with the virus? Surely shooting on sight is a far better method it's quicker AND you can manage a bigger bag at the end of the day rather than waiting for x ammount of traps to be tripped You can go out and shoot 50 greys in a good day i fail to see traps bettering that Some form of portable Gas operated incinerator would be a bonus too as you can cremate the bodies to stop the spread of cross contamination should a red stumble on the carcass of the greys? webber
My father in law had a problem with greys, entering his garden, and even the house from a wood at the bottom of the garde. I fixed him up with a cage trap for squirrels, its similar to one for rats. Baited with chunky peanut butter. He accounted for 6 over a 2 week or so period. webber Edited June 5, 2006 by henry d
