I said o my friend but he said about 1 2 i have all so put tubes in. I was thinking about taking the to dead rabbit holes but need to get a ferret finder 1st

Why take them to dead holes? You can never know if there are rabbits using them so you might as well enter them into proper holes. On there first few outings don't work them hard, no more than 3 rabbits. I work mine in the first January after they are born so about 7 or 8 months, they always do well and yes get a locator.

Happy New Year

Hi any one hunt with ferrets and know what age to start them

I have a drain pipes set up with a couple of exits and a stop end, I put them in one at a time and let the come out slowly, pick them up and back in the box.

Then I put nets over the exits and let them wander out through the net and then back in the box.

Ferrets hunt naturally it is just the box/handling/picking up bit you need to get sorted.

One thing is not to snatch at them as they are by the hole, because this is a right pain in the **** habit….8 months is ok however start them on small earths 3/5 holes.

One more thing to add, I put the locator collars on them and leave them on for a couple of hours in the cage so they get used to them, as the last thing you need to be doing is having a collar battle just before you start ferreting…..
