Scopes on Ebay

Quick question lads, are scopes like Swarovski, Ziess and Schmidt & Bender worth buying

from E Bay ?. Iv been looking to buy a medium to top end scope from the above names mentioned

and while looking on E Bay i noticed that the prices can be significantly lower then most

gun shops in this country, for the scope i could be interested i buying.

Though most of them are sold from the USA which is where the doubt comes into

my decision whether to buy or not.

Any feed back on this subject would be greatfully recieved, from any one who has bought

scopes from E Bay or was going to but decided against buying for what ever reason.

Thanks

Gareth

If imported from USA, watch out for additional VAT, customs duty(if over about £130), and Royal Mail's helpful 'handling' charge, never mind basic postage. Perhaps not worth it when you could buy in this country with a local guarantee. That said, I have bought several non-scopes items from the States with satisfaction on the whole.

i have bought 2 leupold scopes on ebay and they were a lot cheaper than anywhere else. sometimes items sell for too much and other times you can get real bargains. one of the scopes i got i found by searching "scopes" instead of "leupold scopes", no one else seemed to see it or bid on it and i dont think the owner knew how good a scope it was, and it was a proper leupold not a cheap copy. just keep watching :good:

Theres a decent scope for sale on this site schmidt and bender do everything you want atb paul

Don't want a fixed mag scope Paul. Rather some thing with variable power for the longer shots,

always nice to see a little further even if its only for safety issues.

Some thing 3 to 4 by 12x 50 or 56 objective lens.
