SPARKIE Posted June 6, 2006 Report Share Posted June 6, 2006 went to the stables where the missus keeps the horses and got up onthe water tower so i could see down onto the fields below and there they were about 30 woodys on the field about 40 to 45 yards away no wind so thought ill take the shot straight through the neck scared the rest of but didnt even flap was dead before its head hit the floor the others came back a couple of times but missed them and they got wise so will be down again in the week to try again. SPARKIE Posted June 7, 2006 Author Report Share Posted June 7, 2006 ive got a knock down squirrel a gamo 1 the box says 150foot string on it i think thats around 50 yards i thinki use that to set the scopes as a lot of the shooting i do is long range around 40 yard mark out closer use the mildots on the scope killed afew like this of the water tower when ya kill from that range ya feel like ya a proper sniper...aim small miss small ....flys for anouther day....aim small hit small its dead....aim large hit large it flys away in pain....got to aim for the head or neck for the clean kill...
