Lancs Lad
Ive tended to breast my pigeons as soon as I get em back from the shoot. However, recently I have hung a couple in the shed for 24 hours and found that they breast a lot easier. Just have to stop the missus going into the shed now...... A few screws mounted into the inside of the shed about 1/2 inch apart makes a great hanging point....just slide the neck between the screws and the head stops it. How long do you hang em for... young gun
i usually don't bother hanging pigeons this time of year as its so warm and they don't keep that well but in cooler weather i will probabley hang them for a day, i will hang pheasants or ducks for longer though at about 2-3 days again depending on the temperature at the time. Hanging them is also supposed to improve the flavour as well as making it easier to breast them.
SNAKEBITE
They breast easier because they are going rotten!
