Good bit of shooting mate.

Let us know how you got on today...

Tried calling you on Sat morn to see if you wanted to go to the Pheasants but I couldn't get through so I thought you must be in the South. Just me and Nard, weren't expecting much but had a good day. Pics to follow.

So went out on Saturday on the syndicate as it was the only place that would be sheltered from the gales. We weren't expecting much as it has been a bad year and last week was the last proper shoot. Anyway myself and my mate went out and we soon had a Woodcock down. We then went quite a while without seeing anything else. On one of the deep burns that are on the shoot my dog flushed a hen well up and it came straight down the hill at me and I downed it with the 2nd shot. However, it turned out to be a runner and my dog made a very good retrieve on it.

I then added a couple of pigeons to the bag followed by another Hen pheasant. On the 2nd last drive my mate shot a couple of rabbits and another hen pheasant. On the very last drive we flushed 3 more hen pheasants, my mate shooting 2 of them, however, we did lose one in very heavy cover. All in all a very good day. 5 Hen Pheasants, 2 Rabbits, 2 Pigeons & 1 Woodcock.
