Do i need to inform my home insurance company that i have a gun cabinet and will be storing guns at my home. Well when my sgc finally turns up!!! mickmep Posted January 26, 2012 Report Share Posted January 26, 2012 as above and get the contents of the safe covered on you contents insurance. there was a tread about this a while ago. personally declared/covered all mine, did increase the premium slightly for the ones valued over £1500 each if memory serves correctly, but well worth it to cover them. mine covers them outside the house as well. My insurance covers all items under £1500 also without listing them and as my gun isn't worth more than that this is why I didn't mention it, the same as I didn't individually mention all the TV's in my house worth less. I didn't really think of it being a problem to be honest. I haven't noticed anything in the T&C's that state firearms etc. I am also covered for off the property, so I presumed I am allright, but I might re-read the info.
