pin
Hi All, New to the forum and new to shooting, but addicted in a big way! Anyone within striking distance of Broomhills shooting ground fancy meeting up for a shoot at some point? Great place, with 10 stands of challenging English sporting targets. Driven from some seriously high towers, rabbits and some nice challenging teals. Only shot there twice, but it really is a nice place to shoot, would be ideal to meet up one Saturday morning early doors. Prices are about average given the location but the equipment is top notch and there is plenty of variation in a really nice woodland setting. Well stocked shop for anyone needing shells etc. Realy easy to get to just off the M1, check the link for more details. So, anyone close enough fancy a meet up one Saturday for a bit of friendly shooting?
pin
Just read that back, no I don't work for them, get a commission or anything like that. There are loads of other shooting grounds near where I live, this one is just that bit better I think 24p/clay is about normal for around London, A1 shooting ground charge the same thing but don't have th e number of stands or variation - though they are a very friendly place and have nice food and drink all the time. There is rectoryfarm shoot, but that only runs Wed & Sunday each week and they only have 5 stands (they vary it regulary and shoot around the targets on the Wed - but compared to others it is limited). My club at London Colney run the best stuff in the area, different challenging targets every single time, 15/100 bird to non members and they have the latest radio controlled traps, a tower and round the clock permission to shoot. Come on, must be some of you out there fancy a bit of friendly competition?

Stealth Stalker
Hi Pin I'm just round the corner from you (Shenley) Is your club in London Colney the Barley Mow Farm shoot? I shoot at Park Street every fortnight, I've never been to Broomhills, sounds good. Me & a mate are going to the A1 on saturday if you fancy meeting up. Cheers Stealth Stalker
pin
Finally! You will have to excuse the enthusiasm mate its all still new and exciting to me, and finally someone else on here lives a bit local The club/shoot is the one at Bowmans Farm, not sure if thats the same one (PM sent). This Sat my pops is down and we are shooting at my club sadly (well, not sadly as its cheaper and better imvho). Will deffo have to meet up and have a clatter there at A1 or up at broomhills. A bit of a trek but worth it

Catamong
I've shot Broomhills since it opened back inthe 80's, and I notice in the CPSA Pull Magazine that they are holding open shoots on 15/7, 23/9, 25/11 & 23/11. High Gun is £100 at each shoot, nothing gives me more pleasure than accepting that little brown envelope from Ken Duglan, who's well renowned for his generosity..!! So I hope to do all of them, if anybody fancies a meet up, then post or PM me. Cat.

I am probably nowhere near good enough to be in comps but to be honest I don't care if I come last, I just enjoy breaking those clays. Have seen the one closest advertised up there, little yellow fliers on the stands. I'd be interested to meet up and see how things worked for sure.
