I have been after this pair of fox for weeks now but what with beating and pheasant shooting I have not had a weekend spare for ages, that is till now!

I got there Friday afternoon after work, listening, watching. I knew the still cold air would let me hear everything. With half an hour of light left she started screaming and her dog fox following with a bark or two after, just like they were everynight a few weeks ago.

Knowing roughly where their earth was now I planned a raid the following morning.

I was in position just as full light was reached, half the walk in was in the dark, not a long walk but a slow walk just in case I bumped into another!

With a raw cold wind on me I looked from high ground through oaks and larch towards where I think the earth is.

Within 3/4 of an hour the dog fox apears, slowly making for home. It was a miracle he never winded me as he came from very near behind me!

Waiting for him to apear in a gap I took him as he walked, a down hill off hand shot say 60yds from the 308 loaded with a 110grn V-max and 50grn of H4895.

1/2hour later the vixen apeared, she too was heading to the same place (home work pay's off)carrying a small rabbit but she gave me no shot, to many sticks! She was around the hundred yard mark. I will go back later wheather permitting,,,

These two fox's were scrapping with another two way back in early December, some of you may remember me getting them some time back!

Before I go just want to say there gets some amazing photo's on here
