Ferret Roulette.

Like this idea, already found someone to do it, along side ferret racing

How about a Butcher showing the young Townie housewives how to dress & Pluck game? Rabbits, Pigeons etc.,

Local Wildfowlers, (BASC?) showing how to reload cartridges.

Great idea, need a couple of Pigeon Watchers to do a stand

What about fly casting,

Looking into this one

Muzzleloaders have a go clay stands are always popular if you know anyone with a couple.

:good: need to find a couple of muzzle loaders in my area

Dwarf throwing,pigeon plucking contest,pig racing,fly tying,stick making,game tasting,foxhounds,terrier and lurcher racing great fun.oh and a hogg roast.

terrier and lurcher show in another field on the monday, found a fella who does stick making who's willing to do a stall

We do all the scurries for Basc midlands area..Long retrieve is a very popular one and draws a crowd, dummy fired from a Lite launcher anywhere from 30 to 80 yards dep on the dogs... dog has to run out and bring it back..fastest dog wins it, its primarily a gundog event but any dog can have a try..lurchers are quite good . Were about is your event?

just to add if you ain't got that sort of room...the bales jumps are good too..basically 4 or 5 bales about 6 to 8ft apart but fenced of into a straight run so the dogs cant go around..dog gets to see a dummy/ball chucked into the last compartment..has to jump the bales and make the retrieve..again fastest dog...usually most dogs can do this as the owners can go with them along the side if they want...this type of dog will never win it though

scurry sounds good :good:

What about a green woodworking and wattle making display and have a go session?

?? whats that about then

Chicken keeping display? Perhaps contact a local company that make those do it yourself chicken keeping kit thingys?

onto this one

egg throwing & catching always draws a good crowd and lots of laughs.

We have tractor / trailer rides around the playing fields for the kids at our village fun day.

Dizzy stick race is always good for a laugh too!

may be some classic cars and tractors, not to sure about rides? whats a dizzy stick race?

best scare crow comp , gun dog dummy scurries , horse shoe tossing , best home made cakes etc , biggest veg , oh and a wet t shirt comp

next village has a scarecrow festival, don't want to tread on toes ;) everything else noted

Sounds a great weekend probably pop down with the family! Will have a think tomorrow for some ideas. Maybe get Magman on one of those dunking games where you have to hit a target and he goes into something unpleasant?

looking forward to seeing you there fella

naked female mud wrestling.............obviously for the grownups :P

probably happen at some point during the weekend  all it'll take is a touch of rain

we used to have a thing at our village fete. The farmer would build a square or ring of bales, and put a tarp over them, then another layer of bales on top to hold it in place, then fill the middle with water, like a tmeporary pond if your with me. Then a decent strength plastic pipe would be balanced across, tied in place. Then you'd pay your 50p/£1 each and have a pillow fight straddling the pipe. Great fun!!!

Also did snail racing one year.

Plate smashign stall was great, loads of old crockery on a set of shelves, lob balls at them and smash stuff.
