haggis
I shoot a over and under beretta with a 14 3/4" length of pull what length of stock would I need for a sbs? I heard it differs with sbs because of double trigger set up? Haggis
welshwarrior
The fit on a sbs is much more important than an ou I would get it fitted properly my sbs measurements are totally different to my ous Edited February 5, 2012 by welshwarrior
haggis
What length is your stock out of interest?
welshwarrior
My main clay gun an ou is 15 1/16 my sbs that I shout in a jacket not skeet vest is 14 3/4 lop I find an ou more forgiving in fit especially cast than any sbs
haggis
I thought it would be other way round a longer longer on a sbs.
welshwarrior
Part of the issue is that when I shoot clays summer mostly I wear a t shirt and skeet vest around 1/8". When I shoot game with my sbs I wear a shirt a jumper and a tweed jacket about an inch so the stock would be longer on sbs if it was fitted to me in a vest. I had a play with some spacers and recon with the recoil pad thing I use on the sbs for clays its a 15 1/2 lop to the front trigger.
Vince Green
With a sbs a longer stock usually feels better and fits better but you don't need to make an on the spot decision. You can, as you say, make up some practice spacers and have a play with different stock lengths by taking off the butt plate and taping them in position to experiment. A lot of SbSs espescially the older ones have insufficient drop. People have longer necks these days as well as longer arms. thats more difficult to adjust.
