30-6
I know some people have success with crows on the whirly, but I never have, opposite effect if anything. But what I have done with limited effect is to set it up 100's of yards away (next field), to get them in the area and hope that when they spook at the whirly they'll come over to the decoys. Try it, like all decoying sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, it's on the day.
hawkeye
Last back end scaffy and myself shot over 60 black ones and we had a magnet in use that day did not stop them comeing in. Have been shooting a lot of crows over the last few weeks and the magnet has stayed at home they have still been coming to the decoys. So give it a try if they get shy take it in and just use decoys. roe doe
USED magnet on crows when i first got one about 6 years ago and i found itworked but once crows in a certain area had seen a few times veered off @ 70-80 yards from decoys tryed slowing magnet down but still the crows veer off . i think if you use one in an area that has a lot of shooting pressure the crow become wary of them
tosspot
tried it twice both times was a failure can't beat dead birds in cradles as deeks
Will Beasley
Ive had some pretty good success with crows on a magnet, but like most have said a different approach is needed. I've had good results using a plastic hawk on one end of the rotor arm and a crow on t'other, and RPM of the rotor needs to be spot on else they'll twig danger immediateley.
