Slipster
Frank, I tried it for the first time earlier in the year, absolutely brilliant. Ferrits in dogs at the ready and hold on My lads loved it http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...opic=2211&st=60 I dont set the nets as tight as i did in the pics and they work great. My opinion

lurcherboy
Is long netting effective, when ferreting, without using purse nets? Thanks, Frank. Damn right it is Frank but results suffer when pursing and longnetting. Better one or the other unless you have a capable cur in the team. BTW, if your doing well on the longnet, chin them, its quicker when they are hitting the net in numbers LB

fert
frank if you are intending on using a long net i would reccomend a book written by harold wyman it is called the art of longnetting this book is the longnetters bible.and remember you need plenty of kill in a good net so be carefull what you buy imo you need at least50% kill in a net that is 100 yards of net to 50 yards of cord.be very patient when you start out dont just chuck the tangled net into the back of the shed after its first outing. good luck fert

Andy17
hi frank, I have found longnetting to be an excellent method, I used it this season just gone as a partition between either two warrens or one warren and thick cover. I have found that putting a few purse nets down on larger warrens seems to help a little as many rabbits will just hole hop after a while(tend to get a few back net themselves). Remember to keep the net baggy. The first time I set one up it was like a tennis net and i spent the morning watching rabbits bounce off of it. yis andy
