955i
Had arranged to go shooting in the morning, not such an unusual thing on here, but I always have my son on weekends and that is when my shooting partner can make it. Anyway, not having the boy this weekend as the ex was taking him away to her chaps for the weekend so arranged the day. Exciting for me as I haven't been out in over a year now and it would be my first try with my new shotgun. Got a text from her at 2 o'clock today saying she had had to go to London for work and she would be going to Brighton from there so could I pick him up from school and drop him off as usual on Sunday  Now, while I am dead happy that he is with me for the weekend (cos it really grips my **** when she goes off playing happy families with this bloke with my kid ), I can't believe that my first days shooting in such a long time has been scuppered

phaedra1106
My shooting outings (mostly with my Autistic son) and even the 1 night a week I used to get away on my own have been scuppered more times than I have had hot dinners over the last 6 years because of my Ex. Ending up a disabled single parent and having to look after my "kids" (now 17, 21 & 24) while she went away for holidays and weekends with her girlfriend didn't go down well at all but at the end of the day they're my kids and I'd always put them first anyway. As it stands now she has almost nothing to do with the 2 boys and my daughter spends most of her time here, she's been here every night for the last 4 weeks while her mum claims £69 a week in benefits for her :( It's not easy when someone else gets involved with your kids life, all you can do is be there for them and they'll eventually see these things for themselves. LondonLuke
You can shoot for many many years to come, your child's youth lasts but a limited time You won't ever look back and think you wished you had shot this weekend but may regret not spending time with your children That said, still a massive pain in the ****
