non toxic shot coating

I have been told that someone is looking at coating lead shot for waterfowling its been in the shooting press over here as anyone read anything about this i dont get any mags at all.

Even if this is done do you think they whould acept it as its still lead at the end of the day isnt it. :good:

Yeah the T-Coated jobbies. It is still lead but the point is that lead will (or should!) never come in contact with anything due to the coating. I can't rememeber what the life of that coating is. Also i believe it is safe for birds in ingest the shot without the harm cause by standard lead shot.

I doubt any kind of coating can stick to shot after being fired from a barrel at 1400fps. Heat, Friction, Defermation would lead to extreme wear on the thin coating.. I very much doubt they will get away with it. Any deformed shot after firing would have the lead exposed

I dunno, i think i remember reading that it had been tested and the coating remained after firing. I'm not saying it works blah blah blah but just trying to recall what i've read. :good:
