Paul223
Yep round up, then 3 to 4 weeks later strim or fire
Jimmer
Not sure that round up kills brambles that well, i think a corn spray is better but i could be wrong!
Paul223
Yes will kill brambles and dog rose no problem
gazzala
Yes will kill brambles and dog rose no problem The best way to kill em is to strimmer or hedge cut to the ground or as low as *** , let them reshoot to about 6 - 9" then spray with a selective spray ( Garlon 2 or Grazon 90 ) job done
Paul223
Killed plenty of dog rose and bramble off last year, sprayed waited 3 weeks then strimmed, worked a treat
activeviii
jumping on post, can you spray around trees. im wanting to clear a wood that is over run with brambles but a little worried about the frees and spray
keeperdan
I do a lot of spraying around trees with round-up. All you need is a guard on your lance to stop the drift.. I normally use a quad bike sprayer which has a 135 litre tank. I put 100 litres in and about 4 litres of round up in..
Mungler
I had a similar question - domestic round up doesn't appear to have the welly for Essex brambles I was going to have a chat with my farmer chum and get some industrial herbicide but I do have a concern about drift and other plants. Is there anything specific for brambles? Or limited to a selection of vegetation including brambles?
keeperdan
I use the round up of the farm as we use lots of it on the farm.. Never use the stuff you by in the shops as it not a strong. As long as you use a guard you will be ok.
Super major
Not sure how thick the stems are on your brambles but you may get through a bit of strimmer cord if they're quite thick. Didn't know whether you meant tractor hedgecutter or petrol hedgecutters but we often use petrol hedgecutters for thick stemmed brambles. Hope this is of some use, Rob
