ReindeerBond
Hi I am an S200 owner and very interested in any information on known "open" areas where the shooting of Pigeons, Grey Squirrel and Rabbits is permitted in Norfolk (I live near Fakenham & Holt). Any suggestions or contact details for friendly landowners who permit vermin hunting would be much appreciated. I am a mature guy with 25+ years shooting experience. Thanks in advance Andy
JR1960
Hi Andy Welcome to PW. Sadly, if you think it's going to be that simple you may be in for a nasty shock. Good luck.

ReindeerBond
nice first post welcome to the forum. Stay on here a bit and get to know you and you might get a pm from me inviting you out Thanks both for the prompt responses! I am already discovering that finding suitable areas and opportunities for shooting in the field are as rare as the proverbial rocking horse ....! I am in the process of joining the Fakenham Rifle Cub to extend my contacts (when I can establish what the range opening times are!
ReindeerBond
Thanks for the tips I have bitten the bullet and written to half a dozen farms and estates near me.... I'll not hold my breath for a response but you never know
anser2
It took me 10 years to get any pigeon shooting in your area. While i now have plenty of ground the farmers I shoot for are very reluctant to let any one else on their farms ( one mate who I had been taking with me for 5 years is still not allowed to go without me ). Where some pigeon shooting takes place its usualy restricted between the end of the game season and when the pheasants start to breed. One farmer lost a field of rape because he would not let me shoot it for fear of disturbing his pheasants( I do shoot on other parts of the farm ). In N Norfolk the pheasant is king and any other shooting is very secondary. Your best bet is to offer your services as a beater next winter and befriend a gamekeeper. You could try joining one of the local wildfowling clubs. Edited April 17, 2012 by anser2

pboro shot
beleive it or not i think you would get more chance of a bit of shooting with a shotgun could be worth it even if you just do the odd pay day then youll have more chance to use a airgun once farmers trust you, plus at the minute sgc are fairly cheap so not a huge investment ,theres always ferals in barns that need clearing out ,
