telf
hi all am possibly thinking about getting a new scope,i like mildot reticules so was looking at either a zeiss conquest or a sightron s111 both would be in 3.5-10x44.I alreasy have a conquest in 4.5-14x50 with mildot ret, and am very impressed with it, but was really wondering about the sightron, are they any good, about the same price as the zeiss,is the glass up to zeiss standards, any info appreciated cheers dave
phaedra1106
Just got an SIII 8-32x56, have to say the glass is spot on, compared it to a couple of S&Bs and a Leupolds at the range and couldn't see any difference (nor could their owners!). Best part is I got it about £300 cheaper by buying it when I was in the US

phaedra1106
No idea to be honest, I only target shoot and that's about once a month when we can get range dates :( I can have a look through it tonight when it starts getting dark if you like

phaedra1106
Not an expert on low light by any means but compared to my cheaper Barska 6-24x50 and from what I remember of my Viper 6-24x56 it is certainly brighter and very clear. I have the MilDot recticle, it may not be best suited depending on what you're shooting, the Target Dot centre dot is larger and may be easier to position in low light. cooter
I have an SIII 8-32 X 56 in mildot which I use for target work. I find the ret is a little thick at longer ranges (over 600yrd). It does not have the same low light performance as my Bushnell Elite 6500 or my Meopta stalking scope, but this is probably due to the higher mag. The above are only observations and not what I call faults. If possible get one with IR.
