Hi all,

Been looking forward to posting this for some time now! I had the pleasure of taking Essex County and England International cricket player ‘Alastair Cook’ MBE, stalking with me some weeks ago! we had a fantastic trip 2 days of AM & PM stalks.

I cant let on to much as my sponsors River West & Zeiss Mossy Oak have photos and info on the days to put into the shooting magazines, but wanted you all to be some of the first to see the man in action.

Alastair is a hell of a bloke really one of the lads! and he cant wait to get back out after finishing this tour on some rabbits with some keeper mates of mine.

I always think it's great when well known sportsmen or other celebs, stick their head above the parapet and declare an interest in field sports. They are bound to get grief for it from the great unwashed, so it's bold move and I raise my hat to them. Nice post :good:

Well said that man! Alastair was so down to earth and easy going it was unreal.

When we first meet I said "sorry but I must ask you some questions about Cricket and the other lads in the England team" He said back "no problem you ask me 1 about Cricket and I ask you 1 about shooting! We both said deal! and that's how the trip went on he had some fantastic stores!

Country lad.

As an avid cricketer myself I find this article awesome, like you say it is always great when someone in the public eye shows a passion for our sport.

Will definitley be buying the magazines on the back of this alone.

Nice work Spud

Thank you! I think it will be May-June it will be in the Magazines.

What an honour being able to spend a whole weekend with a true sporting legend. A man at the top of his field and a master of his sport. I bet Alistair was well chuffed!

It was a honour mate!! I spoke with him today as we are off again within the next 2 weeks Muntjac and Roe bucks on my new bit of Ground! and some Rabbits with his new 17 i just sorted him! :good:
