docholiday
Well whilst sitting at home have been putting together a few projects and have decided I would like something to shoot flat and long to go with my Sako 85 6.5 x 55. The Swede is great for most of my shooting but have the opportunity to shoot reds down in Suffolk, this is large field country and ofter a longer shot is required, plus you can never have to many rifles Any body have any thoughts about this round? I like the Sako 85 with fluted barrel.

The name is a contraction of the nominal 7mm calibre (about 7.2mm) and the parent .308" (7.62mm) case. I know, I know - I could bore for England! yankeedoodlepigeon
I heard they are not affected by wind as much as other calibres
Beretta28g
I am in a similar situation and i like the look of the .303 British. Certainly one to look at.

Bear68
Great calibre - took everything muntjac, roe, fallow and red with mine. Factory ammo can be hard to find, with Federal Fusion 140gn SP's being the most common.
cleaner4hire
I dont think that it is that different to the swede really. Im after one in next year or so, simply because it will do for all deer and Boar, should the need arise!! and is France legal, otherwise I would have had a 7x57 Looking at all the comments on the net from people who shoot alot of deer it appears to be a good allrounder, so I doubt you would be disapointed
Dunkield
I don't spend much any time looking into alternative calibres these days, but then I did the 7.08 was what I decided I would replace my 6.5 with if it ever came to it.
