B NICKEL 8x56 a scope

valuation please i have a b nickel 8x56 scope i want to sell . it is good condition . few marks here and there and very good glass . i know it is quite an old scope so struggling to find a value . thanks in advance gents

Used to be imported by a guy near Birmingham from memory who has since retired.

 

They are reputed to be good scopes. assuming it works as it should, the glass is clear and it has either a 25mm or 30mm tube ( some German scopes of the period had 26mm tubes) and a cross hair reticule then I would have suggested maybe £200 perhaps a bit less. If it has a German single post reticule then these are only really suitable for deer work, reduce the price to maybe £150. However checking the manufactures web site it looks like new ones are 1400 Euros or so, no doubt plus VAT as well. So that comes in at over £1k. So in good nick as above then my initial valuation seems way out, maybe £400-£500 would be more likely.

 

There is a company called Emma's custom rifles or similar that may buy it from you, somewhere up in the North East They sell quite a few older but high end optics, I bought a pretty rare Ziess from them last year although this is still shown on their web site.

Nickel scopes were/are top quality items,on a par with Zeiss/Habitch.
