eccles
Looks very good well done. But you may need a few more pieces of timber in the ladder to much of a gap.

THE GRIFF
Nice work......You'll never get them chickens in it tho... :good: We did catch all 4 chickens that afternoon, because we left the door open. On a serious note..... For anyone that has any experience with a ladder trap, what dimensions have you had the gaps in the ladder. We have been advised 6"x6" for magpies and jackdaws, and 6"x8" for crows. The chickens have now been released and the door locked shut for anyone that was worried..... SAVAGE HMR
Looks good mate. How are you going to get it out of your garden though? I take it, it dismantles so you can transport it?

Made another ladder to drop onto the original taking the gap down to 4" for Magpies, although not tried it yet. Had 6" gaps on another ladder trap years ago and Mags and Jackdaws were coming and going as they pleased.

It all goes together with toggle clips so no messing about in the field with screws and bolts, the 8' side panels on the side are also hinged in the middle so they are only 4' wide for transporting. Had 6" gaps on another ladder trap years ago and Mags and Jackdaws were coming and going as they pleased. Our ladder is 12" wide at the moment and was also going to do it 6" apart for crows. We thought about just running two lengths of wire down the middle to convert it for magpies and jackdaws, this would then give us 2 ladders side by side with gaps of about 4"x6" or do you think a separate ladder on top would be better with gaps of about 4"x5". Can't really say,as we haven't used it for Maggies yet.But a set of curtains is i think a must to stop them flying right up to your ladder..have seen it stopping the crows on ours
